Can People Break their Addiction Own?

Now, most people cannot break addiction on their own. If you notice a colleague friend loved one struggling with addiction try to be of some assistance. At least talk to them. Let them know that you’ve noticed a change in their behavior and that you’re concerned about their wellbeing. Offer your time and energy to help them.

If they’re willing to speak with someone, offer to help instead of that appointment or to look for someone that can be of utility to them. Often this would be somebody like a psychiatrist, a substance abuse professional, or a psychologist. This would be a time that you could offer to help them find resources. A twelve step meeting like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
