No more Cigarette Warnings: Canada innovative endeavor

Canada’s innovative endeavor: Smoking harms home and country. This is what we would have seen at the beginning of the film, putting under the screen during smoking scenes. Why would we have seen the warning words on the top cover of the box where those cigarettes come with a photo emphasizing their harms. All of this is done with the idea that people should reduce their smoking habits. But in no country is this smoking habit so low. Sales of cigarettes also did not decline.

In an effort to reduce smoking in this area, the Canadian government is planning to implement a new innovative approach. Is to introduce mandatory warnings on personal cigarettes beyond what is already featured in the pockets. The government plans to work with the producers on the project. Canada will be the first country in the world to introduce such labeling.

According to Health Canada, the motive behind the idea behind the new packaging is to “print health-related news and warnings on its covers to point out the dangers of cigarette abuse to young people and middle-aged people. Yet the number of people taking it has not diminished. The size did not decrease.

And about 48,000 people die each year from serious illnesses caused by smoking. We feel accustomed to looking at the warnings on the top of the card. This is an attempt to remind them of it again. Therefore, health warnings should no longer be printed on the dipping paper of cigarettes and other tobacco products. So the government hopes that the use of those products will be reduced. ”

“With this new strategy from Canada, we are working to reduce tobacco use from 13% to less than 5% by 2035. It is important to make sure that everyone across the country has reliable information about the dangers of tobacco use and that they can lead healthy lives. We hope we can do that effectively, ”said Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos.

It is noteworthy that Canada was the first country to introduce the system of printing the health warning on cigarette cards graphically in 2001.
