Los Angeles is home to the world’s largest cannabis beverage facility, thanks to DeltaBev, a company that specializes in manufacturing and distributing cannabis-infused drinks. The facility, which opened in January 2024, can produce millions of cans and bottles of various cannabis beverages, ranging from sodas to shots.
A State-of-the-Art Facility with Quality Standards
DeltaBev’s facility is located in the San Fernando Valley and covers 45,000 square feet of space. It is equipped with advanced processing and packaging technologies, such as reverse osmosis water filtration, water de-aeration, inline emulsion injection, CO2 purging, and counter-pressure filling. These features ensure that the THC potency of the beverages is preserved at all stages and that the products are stable and consistent.
DeltaBev is committed to upholding rigorous manufacturing quality standards for its beverages and aims to align itself as a high-quality and trusted supplier in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. The company follows the best practices and regulations for cannabis production and testing and uses only natural ingredients and flavors for its drinks.
A Competitive and Accessible Cannabis Beverage Category
DeltaBev is not only a manufacturer but also a distributor of cannabis beverages. The company is part of the vertically integrated Blaze Life Holdings (BLH), which also owns SuLo Distro, a full-service cannabis distributor that covers California. By streamlining its operations and eliminating unnecessary complexity, BLH can deliver fresher products to consumers faster, enabling downstream profitability and a faster time to market.
DeltaBev also distinguishes itself from other cannabis beverage co-manufacturers by offering standard procurement services to all its customers. This means that the company leverages its purchasing power to enhance customer margins and foster more competitive retail pricing. By doing so, DeltaBev hopes to make the cannabis beverage category more accessible and affordable to consumers and to increase the demand and popularity of cannabis drinks.
A Partnership with Mary Jones Soda and CANN
DeltaBev has already secured some prominent production partners for its facility, such as CANN, the wunderkind brand that offers low-dose cannabis social tonics, and Mary Jones Soda, a subsidiary of Jones Soda, one of the first mainstream CPG brands to enter the recreational cannabis market in California.
Mary Jones Soda, which launched in 2022, has witnessed impressive sales growth of over 500% and has become the fifth-largest cannabis beverage brand in California. The company offers a range of flavors, such as berry lemonade, green apple, and root beer, each containing 10 mg of THC per bottle. Mary Jones Soda chose BLH to co-manufacture and distribute its beverages because of the company’s dedication to supply chain optimization and innovation.
“We are excited about our next phase of growth in California and partnering with both DeltaBev and SuLo Distro. The Canoga Park facility accelerates our innovation into more beverage options, as well as gummies and shots. The SuLo distribution capabilities will also ramp up our go-to-market strategy as we expand our footprint into more California dispensaries,” said David Knight, CEO of Mary Jones.
DeltaBev’s facility is expected to produce and distribute millions of units of Mary Jones Soda and CANN beverages, as well as other brands that will join the portfolio in the future. The company believes that the cannabis beverage category is far from its tipping point and that there is a huge potential for growth and innovation in this space.
“The cannabis beverage category is one of the most exciting and dynamic segments in the cannabis industry. We are proud to be at the forefront of this movement and to offer our customers and consumers the best quality and variety of cannabis beverages on the market. We are confident that our facility will set a new standard for cannabis beverage production and distribution and that we will continue to lead the way in this category,” said Shreyas Balakrishnan, CEO of BLH.
