High Tide Expands in Ontario with Two New Canna Cabana Stores

High Tide Inc. (NASDAQ: HITI) is pushing forward with its retail expansion in Ontario, bringing its Canna Cabana brand to two new locations. The company has confirmed that stores in Collingwood and Cambridge will soon be opening their doors, adding to its already extensive footprint across Canada.

Collingwood Store Set to Open March 13

Collingwood is about to get its first Canna Cabana store, and its location couldn’t be more strategic. Sitting at 99 Balsam Street in the Collingwood Centre, the shop benefits from high foot traffic thanks to neighboring big-name hardware and grocery stores. But that’s not all.

The town itself is a major tourist hub, attracting an estimated 400,000 unique visitors every year. Many of them are heading toward Blue Mountain Village, a well-known ski and resort destination. The new Canna Cabana store is positioned right along that route, making it the first cannabis retailer travelers will see as they enter town.

One sentence is enough here.

With both local customers and seasonal visitors in mind, High Tide is betting on strong sales from day one.

Cambridge Store Follows on March 17

Just four days after launching in Collingwood, High Tide will open another Canna Cabana store in Cambridge, located at 1 Hespeler Road. Unlike Collingwood, where tourism plays a major role, this spot is all about population density and high visibility.

It’s located at a busy intersection and surrounded by major retail and fast-food chains. With large residential neighborhoods nearby, the store is expected to draw steady local traffic. Plus, there’s minimal direct competition in the area, giving Canna Cabana an advantage as the go-to cannabis retailer.

Cambridge has been an underserved market for cannabis retail. That changes now.

High Tide’s Growing Footprint

These two new stores will bring High Tide’s total number of Canna Cabana locations to 194 across Canada, with 79 in Ontario alone. That’s a significant jump for the company, which has been focused on aggressive expansion in the province.

Here’s a quick snapshot of where High Tide stands:

Metric Number
Total Canna Cabana Stores in Canada 194
Canna Cabana Stores in Ontario 79
New Ontario Stores in March 2025 2
Estimated Visitors to Collingwood Annually 400,000

With its value-focused approach and a growing customer base, High Tide isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Ontario’s Cannabis Market Remains Hot

Ontario remains one of the most competitive cannabis markets in North America. Since legal recreational sales began, the province has seen a surge in retail expansion. But with that growth comes tough competition.

  • Consumers have more choices than ever, pushing retailers to differentiate themselves.
  • Locations in high-traffic areas are key to maintaining steady revenue.
  • Price and product selection continue to influence customer loyalty.

High Tide is positioning itself as a dominant player by securing prime real estate and leveraging its discount club model. These latest store openings align with its strategy of capturing foot traffic and maximizing visibility.

What’s Next for High Tide?

With nearly 200 stores in Canada, High Tide is already one of the largest cannabis retailers in the country. But the company has hinted that expansion isn’t stopping here.

Ontario remains a focus, but could we see more locations popping up in other provinces soon? Given the company’s track record, it wouldn’t be a surprise.

For now, the countdown is on for Collingwood (March 13) and Cambridge (March 17).

And as Ontario’s cannabis landscape continues to evolve, all eyes are on High Tide to see where it goes next.
