The agreement, in plain language
These terms govern your use of MMJ GAZETTE, the medical marijuana news publication at mmjgazette.com. By reading or otherwise using the site you agree to them; if you do not agree, the remedy is simple and free: do not use the site. We have written these terms to be readable, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.
What the site is for
The site publishes journalism about medical cannabis: research, policy, patient news, and industry coverage. It is provided for general information only. It is not medical advice, legal advice, or professional advice of any kind, and it is not an offer to sell or supply cannabis or any other product. We do not prescribe, dispense, or sell anything. Our disclaimer expands on this and forms part of these terms; the sentences in it about consulting a physician before any treatment change, and about the legal status of cannabis varying by jurisdiction, apply to every page of this site.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for how you use what you read. In particular:
- You will not treat any article as a substitute for advice from a licensed physician, pharmacist, or lawyer.
- You are responsible for knowing and complying with the laws of your own jurisdiction. Medical cannabis is legal in some places, illegal in others, and regulated differently everywhere it is legal. Nothing on this site authorizes you to obtain, possess, or use cannabis anywhere.
- You will not use the site to seek or facilitate the purchase or supply of cannabis. This is a news publication, not a marketplace.
- You will not misuse the site: no attempts to breach security, scrape at abusive volume, inject malicious code, impersonate the publication, or interfere with other readers’ use.
- If the site offers comments or submissions, you will not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, that discloses another person’s health information, or that promotes the sale of cannabis or makes medical claims for products. We may remove such content and restrict repeat offenders.
Age
The site is journalism about an age-restricted substance and is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and by using it you confirm you are of legal age of majority where you live.
Our content and your license to it
Articles, headlines, and original graphics on this site are protected by copyright and belong to the publication or its licensors. You may read, share links, and quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link, in the ordinary way of the web. You may not republish articles in full, systematically copy the site, or use our content to train commercial systems, without written permission. Requests go to support@mmjgazette.com. Our handling of copyright complaints, in both directions, is set out in the DMCA and copyright policy.
Third-party links
Articles link to studies, agencies, businesses, and other sites. Links are provided for reference and, where marked, as affiliate links disclosed under our ownership and funding page. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any external site. Products mentioned in coverage are mentioned as news, not as recommendations.
Accuracy, warranties, and the limits of both
We take accuracy seriously; our fact-checking policy and corrections policy describe how. Even so, journalism is a record of what was known at publication time. Research gets superseded, regulations get amended, businesses close. The site and its content are therefore provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability

Indemnity

Changes, suspension, and termination
We may update the site, these terms, and our policies from time to time; material changes to these terms will be posted here with a revised date, and continued use after posting means the current version applies. We may suspend or restrict access to protect the site or comply with law. You may stop using the site at any time.
General provisions
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the publication is established, without displacing mandatory protections you enjoy where you live. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the policies they link to, are the entire agreement between you and the publication about use of the site.
